Ahhh lovely Thursday; almost Friday, but not quite as sweet. I spent most of the day trawling my way through the hell-hole that is the internet, trying to find better techniques for my machinima projects. I must say I have been a bit of a voyeuristic troll for many years, there’s nothing I like better than watching a good forum argument expand and go hyper whilst sitting back and writing *popcorn*. The drama and complete pointlessness of it all makes me lol my socks off, it’s like free comedy and every so often you can just chuck in a comment which you know will only make the flaming grow hotter. Whilst on my crusade for machinima software I happened to stumble across WoW map viewer and WoW model viewer. Model viewer still works which is fantastic, but map viewer is unfortunately bodged and possibly against Blizzards T&C. While trawling the forums I happened to come across possibly the worst internet personality I have ever met. He was the most abrasive, self important, arrogant and dislikeable persona I have ever met. Someone should round up Zayfox’s IP address and have him kneecapped for being such an unmitigated ass. I’ve seen a lot of trolls and flamers in my time, but this guy really took the biscuit. Maybe I should send him some ironic flowers in the shape of a gnome being decapitated.
After 3 hours of trawling around about map viewer I gave up, it simply does not work with WOTLK and the potential ban incurred from using it is just not worth it. WoW machinima tool also appears to be in a slightly grey area and could also get your account banned due to it being a 3rd party programme. Feeling slightly miffed and frustrated I decided to give up my hunt, set my computer to defrag and settled down on the sofa to watch BBC2’s next instalment of The Wire. For those of you who haven’t yet seen The Wire I command you to head to the nearest shop and grab season 1, if you don’t you’re a fool, it’s clearly the best series ever produced and shown on TV. Word up to HBO they make badgers out there very happy by making THE best TV series ever!
